Some more #whiteboard. Knowing fundamental harmony is important IMO...knowing it as NOTES... not as patterns or licks...this way when the fundamentals are altered, it becomes a simple change or addition. Furthermore, you are able to see what these changes do for you harmonically, melodically, etc....it allows for limitless, creative ideas to flow more readily IMO.
